Mostly, we fly sport kites. Back in the 80's when we started, they were called "stunt" kites. They differ from ordinary single line kites in that they are flown and controlled by two or four lines. In competition, one of the disciplines we fly is called "Ballet". We choreograph routines and fly our kites to music. This discipline is judged on choreography, degree of difficulty, and in the case of teams and pairs, the spacing between the kites . Kiting offers something for everyone. Kites can be Art - what a wonderful canvas kites make, seen flying in the blue background of sky. Kites can be powerful, harnessing the wind to propell grown men across the ice or over the water. Kites can loft cameras and be used to create stunning arial photography. Kites fly indoors now, too! With all the advances in technology, ultra-light kites will fly on whisps of air that you create yourself by walking. If you don't believe us, you gotta go see this websight and watch some of the indoor performances of our friends, Lee and Debbie Parks. When you love kites like we do, the list of reasons goes on and on, and the attraction never fades.
We are long-time members of our national kiting organization, The American Kitefliers Association. Robyne proudly served as Regional Director for six years, from 1994 through 2000. We also belong to two Ohio clubs: Our "home" club, The Black Swamp Air Force out of Toledo, and our "home away from home club, The Ohio Society For the Elevation of Kites - or, O.S.E.K. - based in Cleveland. |

C'mon in, stay awhile & look around! |
Rob-N-Air was our business name for many years. Since it fit so nicely, we decided to use it as our official Kite Pairs name. We are very active in the kiting community. We are past Masters and former AKA Midwest Conference Champions in Pairs Ballet. We have also flown on 4- and 6-person teams. We currently only fly the Team Train discipline, but spend lots of time judging organizing and volunteering at events all over the eastern United States. |
